The 2026 GBA-ASEAN Conference on Energy Transition and Integration recently concluded in Kuala Lumpur. Hosted by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the high-level gathering convened Malaysia's Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside leaders from government, business, finance and academia across the Greater Bay Area of China (GBA) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

 

Among ongoing strains on global energy markets, deeper China–ASEAN cooperation remains essential. The capital, technology and industrial capacity of the GBA present significant opportunities to support ASEAN's sustainable development in advancing resilient energy infrastructure and driving tangible investment across the region.
