Launched in 2018, SDSN Youth Hong Kong serves as a platform to unite youth-focused organizations and individual youths for sustainability, promoting collaboration and innovation to accelerate solutions towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDSN Youth Hong Kong actively engages with tertiary institutions, community organizations and member organizations in various projects, workshops, and events designed to inspire action, share knowledge, and develop practical solutions, empowering the youth of Hong Kong to take a leading role in creating a sustainable future.
We have been partnering with institutions and organizations to conduct seminars to promote public awareness of the SDGs and to hold dialogues with young people for in-depth discussions on specific SDGs and sustainability topics. Highlights of activities include a post-COP30 fireside chat with youth delegates advocating for climate action, and a dialogue on climate resilience with dedicated youth from the health, urban planning, and climate sectors.
For equipping the future generations with knowledge on sustainable development, we also partner with institutions and organizations to host workshops in educating on the basic concepts of SDGs and exploring the possible solutions to address current issues. An example of workshops conducted includes the Design Thinking Summer Programme in collaboration with the CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change.
SDSN Youth Hong Kong also collaborates with organizations in supervising and supporting academic activities for empowering youths with concepts of SDG topics, enabling them to reflect and express their thoughts on a sustainable future through their words and mock conferences. Examples of collaborations include English-essay competitions and Mock United Nations Conference with youth-focused organizations, and Edutainer programmes with institutions for youths to brainstorm creative solutions for building a sustainable future.
