As one of the key projects of the Centre for Business Sustainability (CBS) at CUHK, the Business Sustainability Indices are compiled and published on an annual basis to monitor the ongoing development and performance of companies in terms of business sustainability. The BSI series consists of 8 indices, including Global BSI, Greater China BSI, Hong Kong BSI, Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises BSI, Greater Bay Area BSI, Hotel BSI, Real Estate BSI and Media BSI.

In 2025, the CBS released the 10th edition of the Business Sustainability Indices (BSI), offering key insights into ESG performance across different sectors in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region. Developed using the VPI model (Values–Process–Impact), the indices evaluate major listed companies based on their sustainability reports for the fiscal year of 2023 across four dimensions: Values, Management, Practices and Impact. The findings highlight prevailing trends, drivers and challenges in corporate sustainability practices.

In 2021, CUHK launched the ‘CUHK Co-operative Education Programme’ which combines classroom-based learning with full-time work attachment. It is the first university-wide Co-op programme in Hong Kong which aims to offer effective career development opportunities to students by providing them with professional skills and an industry network through a full-time work attachment prior to graduation.

The Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) is a social venture startup competition organised by the Center for Entrepreneurship at CUHK and sponsored by the Home Affairs Bureau.

Since its inception in 2007, over 11,707 post-secondary undergraduate and postgraduate students and fresh graduates from 233 academic institutions have been participating and generating over 2,189 business ideas for social enterprise. Through a structured competition model, HKSEC encourages students to employ a creative entrepreneurial approach to solve real world social issues. HKSEC aims to accelerate the growth of social enterprise startups led by young people.

The project is a pioneering career development program in Hong Kong, designed to provide self-development opportunities to improve employability and raise workplace confidence.

The three-year program is tailored for higher educated persons with disabilities and Special Educational Needs (SEN). During the program, participants will engage in a variety of capability building activities to build self-confidence, improve personal competencies, as well as develop leadership and communication skills.

The project aims to facilitate the five partners (CareER, Heep Hong Society, SAHK, St. James' Settlement, and The University of Hong Kong) with a diverse range of expertise to break away from the traditional ways of working, create opportunities to experiment with different forms of collaboration and foster the sharing of information, networks, creativity, knowledge and skills, and other resources.
