1. CLAP @ JC

CLAP@JC is Hong Kong’s first cross-sector platform for youth’s Career and Life Development (CLD). Bringing together educational, business and community resources, the project uses evidence-based intervention frameworks and tools to help youths embrace multiple pathways, develop a positive outlook and ready themselves to contribute to society.

This programme aims to build the innovation capacity of teachers and social workers, ultimately contributing to the professions’ long-term development.

3. The Jockey Club ICH+ Innovative Heritage Education Programme

The Jockey Club ICH+ Innovative Heritage Education Programme is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and is a collaboration between Lingnan University (LU) and Hong Kong Art School (a division of Hong Kong Arts Centre). The programme aims to promote, and redefine the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Hong Kong with a holistic integration of investigation, education and revitalisation.

“ICH+” represents the brand new concept of “Contemporary ICH” - a project to rebrand a range of Intangible Cultural Heritage items by connecting their past to the present, so as to explore their potential vibrancy in today’s world.

4. Jockey Club Collaborative Project for Inclusive Employment

The project is a pioneering career development program in Hong Kong, designed to provide self-development opportunities to improve employability and raise workplace confidence.

The three-year program is tailored for higher educated persons with disabilities and Special Educational Needs (SEN). During the program, participants will engage in a variety of capability building activities to build self-confidence, improve personal competencies, as well as develop leadership and communication skills.

The project aims to facilitate the five partners (CareER, Heep Hong Society, SAHK, St. James' Settlement, and The University of Hong Kong) with a diverse range of expertise to break away from the traditional ways of working, create opportunities to experiment with different forms of collaboration and foster the sharing of information, networks, creativity, knowledge and skills, and other resources.

5. PROcruit C - Support for Fresh Graduates

The HK$52.7 million talent development initiative, PROcruit C, works with over 200 employers to create jobs in 12 caring professions in four sectors using the VASK (values, attitudes, skills, knowledge) talent-matching model pioneered by CLAP@JC, a Trust-initiated Project. More than 400 year-long trainee positions for first-time jobseekers who aspire for social good have been established.

PROcruit C offers first-time jobseekers an opportunity to innovate and create social good at workplace and contribute to the community’s recovery and resilience. Despite a global economic downturn, PROcruit C believes that human-centric skillsets and services will continue to be prized in the new normal.

6. Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC)

 

The Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) is a social venture startup competition organised by the Center for Entrepreneurship at CUHK and sponsored by the Home Affairs Bureau.


Since its inception in 2007, over 9,300 post-secondary undergraduate and postgraduate students and fresh graduates from 145 academic institutions have been participating and generating over 1,600 business ideas for social enterprise. Through a structured competition model, HKSEC encourages students to employ a creative entrepreneurial approach to solve real world social issues. HKSEC aims to accelerate the growth of social enterprise startups led by young people.

4. Equipping Future Leaders for Sustainable Economic Growth

In 2021, CUHK launched the ‘CUHK Co-operative Education Programme’ which combines classroom-based learning with full-time work attachment. It is the first university-wide Co-op programme in Hong Kong which aims to offer effective career development opportunities to students by providing them with professional skills and an industry network through a full-time work attachment prior to graduation.

5. Business Sustainability Indices (BSI)

In 2021, CUHK launched the ‘CUHK Co-operative Education Programme’ which combines classroom-based learning with full-time work attachment. It is the first university-wide Co-op programme in Hong Kong which aims to offer effective career development opportunities to students by providing them with professional skills and an industry network through a full-time work attachment prior to graduation.
