The 11th edition of the Sustainable Development Report (SDR) has launched in June 2026.
Published by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)’s SDG Transformation Center, the SDR 2026 tracks and ranks the performance of all UN Member States on the #SDGs, as well as highlighting key priorities for the next decades of sustainable development.

Key Insights from the Report:
- Critical Gaps: Globally, only 16.5% of the SDG targets are on track for 2030. SDG 11, 14, 15 and 16 are particularly off track.
- Regional Progress: European countries again top the Index – Finland leads this year’s SDG Index. East and South Asia lead global advances on the SDGs. Among major economies, India (+18) and China (+14) show the largest rank improvements.
- Major Obstacle: Survey respondents across 127 countries identified the financing gap as the top barrier to SDG implementation, regardless of region or income level.
- Way Forward: Strengthening implementation is the defining priority for the next era of sustainable development.
