Our Mother Earth is suffering from various challenges: our precious ocean has been filled with plastic; extreme heat, floods, hurricanes have affected millions of vulnerable people; forests have become barren and vibrant rainforests are dying; the COVID-19 pandemic is yet another crisis closely related to the health of the ecosystem. On 22 April, the International Mother Earth Day, the UNESCO Hong Kong Association and the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development will host the Hong Kong Eco Action Forum in response to the ‘Hong Kong Climate Action Plan 2050’. The forum aims to promote schools, youth, enterprises and the general public to actively participate in the transformation towards carbon neutrality, and to protect our Mother Earth. |
