Hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) Undergraduate Leaders’ Programme (ULP) 2023 brings together undergraduate students from APRU member universities and empower them to become changemakers in pursuit of building sustainable, safe, resilient, and inclusive cities in response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Themed ‘Leadership for Sustainable Cities Development,’ the APRU ULP 2023 will focus on SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities. It will encompass a wide array of sub-themes, including environmental, social and governance; waste and resource management; carbon neutrality and energy; green transport; and smart, green and resilient communities. Participants will learn to apply design thinking principles to develop innovative and human-centred solutions to complex sustainability issues using case studies from Hong Kong and around the world.
