Sharing Session—Hong Kong’s Climate Change Leaders & Mayors of America’s Heartland

Created on 17 October 2023

From China to the United States, the whole world has witnessed just within the past couple months alone what the devastating effects of climate change can look like.  The ‘once-in-500 years’ rainstorm here in Hong Kong last month and the record-breaking flash flood emergency in New York just a few weeks later both highlighted the impact of manmade global warming on extreme weather events, which has become more and more apparent with every passing year.

Co-organized by the HKU Business School and the United States Heartland China Association, the Sharing Session—Hong Kong’s Climate Change Leaders & Mayors of America’s Heartland brings together Hong Kong’s leading environmental researchers, green entrepreneurs, and mayors from America’s heartland to exchange city-to-city views on this critical issue and explore China-US collaboration in climate change mitigation, green economy, and energy transition.
