Sea level rise is one of the most dramatic manifestations of climate change. Equally alarming is that dangerous water levels could easily be generated tomorrow by a merciless storm surge, a temporary rise in the sea level during a typhoon, causing more immediate and impactful damage. Organized by the CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and the local think tank CWR, the ‘Rising Seas, Rising Resilience’ exhibition shows how Hong Kong would be inundated in the future, providing a timely reminder of why climate change adaptation and resilience building must not be forgotten. It is time to make Hong Kong a ‘waterproof’ city. |
